Lady 0706

Lady is a wonderful Rottweiler, born 8/5/10. Her owner asked the shelter to find her a new home because, while Lady is very affectionate and gentle with people of all ages, she is NOT good with cats or chickens, and her former owner has both.
Lady enjoys playing fetch (though she doesn't always bring the thrown object back yet, sometimes she just runs over to it and runs back, HA). She is a high-spirited, high-energy "teenager" who will benefit from a calm, assertive pack leader and some obedience training. Right now, she sometimes will jump up on people when she is first out of her kennel, but that behavior lessens after she works off some of her excess energy; you will want to take Lady on at least two fairly brisk walks each day to help relax her. We recommend Lady go to a home without toddlers, as she may well knock them over on a regular basis until she is trained and comfortable in her new surroundings.
She seems to be well housetrained, and never soils her kennel (not even overnight). She is not the sort of dog who would do well left on her own - she is starved for attention, and wants to be in close contact with a human as much as possible.
Before applying to adopt Lady, please check with your homeowner's insurance, and also check your local and county ordinances, as Rottweilers are a breed that many insurers and municipalities either restrict (ie, outdoors with muzzle only, requires 8' fence, etc) or outright ban. Lady has the loving nature of a retriever, but there's no disguising that she's all Rottie!
Like all our adult pet placements, Lady comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period.
Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $95; more gratefully accepted!)
