Brownie 0705

Brownie is a handsome retriever/shepherd mix, who arrived at the shelter after he was released from Republic city impound, where he landed as a stray. He arrived with a small healing wound at the top of his left front leg, which is visible in some of the photos above. Brownie appears to have cataracts, so we are guessing he is at least 8 years old, though he could be older, or even a little younger.

Brownie is housetrained, but we find he really can't make it more than about 8 hours without having a potty break. He is friendly to the other dogs at the shelter, and enjoys his twice-daily trips to the exercise yard, where he likes to sniff around and explore some. Other than the possible cataracts and the wound that is almost fully healed now, he appears to be quite healthy, and he is affectionate and responsive to people of all sorts.

Brownie would like a retirement home where he can relax and be warm and safe. While he does enjoy being outside, he doesn't like to be out in the cold for very long, and really prefers to be wherever the people are. He is good on leash, and also pretty reliable off leash. He may not be the youngest dog out there, but he definitely deserves a loving family for the rest of his years!

Like all our adult pet placements, Brownie comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period.

Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $60; more gratefully accepted!)

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
