Razz 0471

Razz is a 1 1/2-year-old male German Shepherd, who was surrendered to the shelter along with his father Buck because their elderly owners could no longer care for them. They have lived primarily as outdoor dogs up until now, but in foster care have proven that they are housetrained. Razz is used to looking to Buck for instruction, and will benefit from having a person of his own who will provide that leadership and encouragement. He, like his father, is also very affectionate, but can be a little timid around dogs he doesn't know. He did well on his first leash-walk, and gets along fine with the puppies that are sharing his foster home. Razz seems to be amazed that people actually give hugs and kisses - he now wants to be with a person as often as possible, and we think he will blossom with a bit of TLC from his foster family and, then, from YOU, his adopter.
Razz's perfect home would have structure and affection, and be a calm and nurturing place. He would probably not enjoy the activity and energy and noise of toddlers, but would do well with an older child - perhaps a good 4H dog? Razz did not want to get into the car until Buck told him it was OK... he may be the sort of dog who prefers to stay and wait at the homestead while his people run errands, but he may also grow to love travelling around with his family as he becomes more confident under your care and affection. He has no signs of aggression, just is a more submissive dog than his father Buck.
Neuter and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption donation (minimum $60; more gratefully accepted!) Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! If you find the pet of your dreams, Forget-Me-Not will find a way to connect you! As an adult dog, Raz can transport to the Seattle area (usually North Bend or Monroe) or to Spokane for NO TRANSPORT FEE on any of our regularly scheduled transports.
