Annie

Annie was impounded by Republic as a city stray; we picked her up from city impound when her time was up, to find her a great new home!

She is now in foster care, and is a happy, beautiful mixed breed dog (no, not a clue what breeds - guesses have ranged from Rhodesian Ridgeback, to Greyhound, to Basenji, to SharPei, to Chow, with some lab and shepherd tossed in), estimated to be about 1-2 years old. She weighs about 40-45 pounds, and is very affectionate and is fully housetrained. Annie's reddish-brown coat and amber eyes are just gorgeous! Her foster mom reports

"Annie walks acceptably on a leash, is mostly polite, now sits when you ask her to and will do so when you place her on and off a leash. Doesn't bark much; she loves to run and would have given our greyhound a run for her money. She is, loving, intelligent (learned her new name in 4 days) lithe and responsive. She'd make a great 4H and agility dog. I'll bet you could train her to do anything. Honestly, I'm very impressed with her.

At night she rolls around on the carpet on her back and groans with delight. We are thoroughly enjoying her."

We think Annie would be a great addition to any family that could give her lots of exercise and attention; this is not a flop-at-your-feet-and-snooze dog! (She does seem to enjoy sleeping on the bed and cuddling). She gets along beautifully with the dogs and cats in her foster home.

Spay and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption donation (minimum $60; more gratefully accepted!) Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! If you find the pet of your dreams, Forget-Me-Not will find a way to connect you! As an adult dog, Annie can transport to the Seattle area (usually North Bend or Monroe) or to Spokane for NO TRANSPORT FEE on any of our regularly scheduled transports.
