Jillie came to us as a stray; she had been running around Republic for a couple of weeks, apparently abandoned by whomever she trusted.

She has now been in foster care for 5 months - even though our handful of foster homes were full, our wonderful vet took in Jillie to foster! - and is a very sweet and loving girl. She enjoys playing with other dogs, and is about 2 years old. We think she is probably a border collie-labrador retriever cross. Why so long in foster care? As a medium sized adult black dog, Jillie has been overlooked time and again by people who choose a puppy, or a "prettier" dog, or a particular breed - she doesn't have the "flash and sizzle" of some dogs, just a warm heart and a desire to have a person of her own.

She is afraid to go up stairs, but that can be cured if needed (some adopters have reported solving this problem in their own dogs by judicious use of hotdog bits at the top of the staircase). She has been great around the other animals and people coming and going at the clinic - she doesn't run up to greet new people, but will quietly approach them if invited for pets and cuddles. The vet reports Jillie is good around her horses, too!

Spay and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption donation (minimum $45 during our black tie special; more gratefully accepted!) Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! If you find the pet of your dreams, Forget-Me-Not will find a way to connect you! As an adult dog, Jillie can transport to the Seattle area (usually North Bend or Monroe) or to Spokane for NO TRANSPORT FEE on any of our regularly scheduled transports.
