Adelie arrived at the shelter along with 4 of her housemates and 1 dog, after their owner died. REMINDER: If you haven't already done so, please prepare a written pet plan to go with your will, just in case, so your family members don't end up at a shelter like Adelie and her friends!
We are giving all 5 cats an estimated birth date of 5/31/11. Adelie, this beautiful orange medium-haired female, seems to have been deeply affected by the loss of her person and home; right now, all she wants to do is burrow into a volunteer's arms and be cuddled, or hide out in a cat bed. We'll add more photos of her, and a video, as she becomes more accustomed to her new surroundings.
Adelie is used to other cats and dogs, and could be an indoor or indoor-outdoor cat. We recommend a home without toddlers for Adelie; if you'd like two, Adelie would be happy to go home with one of her buddies, but she would also do well as an only cat. If you have an existing cat, Adelie is submissive, and could fit in well with an outgoing but not bossy kitty; if your cat is particularly assertive with other cats, they may have too forceful a purrrrrsonality for Adelie, and you would find her living under a bookcase.
Adelie will arrive spayed, wormed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Adoption fee for Adelie is suggested minimum $40 (more gratefully accepted). These cats will be placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to adjust to each other. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners.If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
