12/31/15:

I thought I might send you an update about Indy (Indigo). We adopted her at the end of May 2015. She's definitely part of the family and is so fun to have. We spent a lot of the summer camping, swimming and hiking. Lately we have been playing in the snow and snowshoeing. Indy loves the snow and is still crazy about fetch. She's getting along well with the cats, especially Zero, our black male. There are a few behavioral things we are working on and have been working with a local trainer to help us become better "pack leaders." We've learned a lot and things are going well.  We give her little jobs to do like carrying her own water and treats when we go on hikes and the "Dog Twister" game for some mental stimulation. I've attached a few pictures of our adventures.

6/2/15:

Just wanted to give you an update on Indy (we've shortened her name - like the Indy 500 because she's so fast). She is having soooo much fun. We've been playing fetch for hours each day we've had her (even today in the rain). She's already been spoiled with an abundance of toys. Each day she gets more affectionate towards us. She's been very gentle with the cats and doesn't bother with them much at all actually. The cats are getting used to her. They are still a little scared but as long as she doesn't zoom past them, they don't seem to mind her too much. She's been meeting members of the family, too. At first she's a bit timid but once they throw something for her to fetch she warms up pretty fast.

She hasn't had much of an appetite so we've had to get a bit creative. We've cooked up chicken and salmon for her and mixed it in with her food but she's too smart for that and can pick it out without eating much kibble. Last night I mixed up some oatmeal, applesauce (homemade without any sugar added) and peanut butter and she gobbled it up. We mixed it in with her kibble and so far that's the only way we've been able to get her to eat much besides a few nibbles. She's still a fan of the greenies treats.

Anyway, I'll send you guys a few pictures of her swimming, playing, and meeting some new people! Thanks again for choosing us!
