Shadow loves San Diego!  While it was a long day yesterday, everything went perfectly.  Shadow was calm on the flight home and didn’t even mind too much when I had to remove him from his carrier and walk him through security.  He just hung on like Velcro and buried his head in my elbow then calmly got back in the carrier.  By the way, big shout out to Southwest from the gate staff who got us on an earlier flight and almost first in line to board to the flight attendants who brought him water without asking and apologized for not having kitty treats onboard for him, and one volunteered to take the meat out of his sandwich and cut it up for him.  How sweet was that!

Shadow is ensconced in our enclosed patio in the master bedroom where everyone can look at each other.  We opened the door and left the screen closed for a while last night so they could scent each other and he wanted to come inside to be with them.  This morning he’s been fascinated with watching the activity in the backyard, birds, bugs, breezes with fun smells, he seems ready to go exploring!

His carrier seems to be his safe zone and when he’s had enough or wants a nap he goes into it.  We also have a cat bed but he’s not very interested in that so far.  Litter box behavior is good, drinking water is good, eating not so good but this morning I gave him some chicken baby food and he ate all of it.  So far he’s ignoring the kibble and two types of wet food I opened so I'll need to keep experimenting.  Karen, what is the brand of cat food he was eating at your house?

We’ve been hanging out together since we got home yesterday, he just lays by me and purrs, so sweet.  We took a nap together late yesterday afternoon and he just lay by my side and when I got up he went into his carrier to finish his nap.  All in all, he’s just so mellow and unafraid.  I'm really happy about the cat interactions, no hissing or posturing, just interested watching and laying around together on opposite sides of the screen door.
